A family favourite 1-hour falconry experience offers a condensed but thrilling introduction to the ancient art of falconry. The experience will begin with a warm welcome at the bird of prey centre by your falconry team and the birds of prey.
A brief overview of falconry, including the history of the practice, the birds’ unique behaviours, and safety guidelines is followed by handling and interaction. Wearing a falconers glove you will experience handling as your falconer guides you through the process. You will learn how to attract the bird’s attention and experience the powerful but graceful nature of the birds flying to your very own glove. A truly up close and personal experience.
The falconer answers any questions and shares additional insights into conservation and the importance of protecting these magnificent creatures. You’ll have the chance to take photos with the birds as a memento.

This experience is an immersive and hands on opportunity to explore the ancient art of falconry whilst working closely with various species of birds of prey.
Begin with a warm welcome and introduction to the falconer, the facility and its birds and give you an idea of the day’s itinerary.
Meet the birds and gain an understanding of their species, behaviour, and unique characteristics. Learn how to safely handle the birds including proper glove techniques and establishing trust. Practice holding and perching the birds whilst allowing time to connect and observe their personalities. Discover the falconers knot, how to attach jessies and secure them for training or transport.
Assist with preparing their meals which involves raw meats. Feed the birds by hand and gain insights in daily care routines including cleaning aviaries and equipment and daily health checks.
Work alongside the falconer to train birds using traditional techniques, experience the thrill of calling the bird of prey to your own glove as it flies gracefully from a distance. Practice basic commends and how to reward the bird for successful flights.
Take photos with the birds and ask as many questions as possible.
